Hutchinson Firm Buys Missouri Competitor
American Energy Systems Inc., manufacturer of the MagnuM brand biomass and agri-fueled corn/pellet appliances, has acquired Country Flame Technologies, a division of American Products LLC. in Marshfield, MO.
The purchase, announced Jan. 31, includes the complete line of Country Flame products, including the Ovation Series, Inglenook, Model BBF, Model O2, Smart Fireplace Furnace, Harvester, Cross-fire C, Little Rascal and the Cross-fire P.
Sales operations and product shipment will continue out of the Marshfield facility, but product will be available out of American Energy Systems’ Hutchinson facility at the intersection of Second Avenue Southeast and Michigan Street.
American Energy Systems Inc. founder and President, Mike Haefner, said he is excited about the acquisition because it gives consumers more affordable, renewable-energy, home-heating appliance choices.
“People are really recognizing the need to conserve and save for future generations,” Haefner said. “We want families to be warm in their own homes without the need to cut their food and health-care budgets for this basic comfort.”
American Energy Systems has been building heating appliances that burn corn, wood pellets, grass pellets, wheat, cherry pits and other grains since 1973. It was founded in South Dakota, but moved to Hutchinson in 1984.
